Year 7 Welcome Back Letter
January 2023
Dear Parent
I hope you and your family have enjoyed a wonderful and relaxing Christmas break. It was lovely to see your children return to College last week ready to build upon the success they enjoyed last term. They all appear to be well settled and ready to face the challenges of 2023.
Your support of College policies is never taken for granted and I thank you for your help in maintaining our high standards. The high standard of uniform continues to be excellent and demonstrates a pride in and a commitment to being part of our wonderful community. As the winter period continues, please ensure that students come to College wearing a suitable school coat and the College jumper so that they can remain healthy and warm.
This term, there will be a focus on homework completion for year 7. Homework is an important activity that not only supports learning in the classroom, but also helps build independent study habits that will be valuable for future studies. Where possible, students will need access to a quiet area of the home which is free of distractions (eg tablets and mobile phones). If you have any concerns with homework, please contact your child’s subject teacher in the first instance.
The spring term is always busy and this year is no exception. Please see below a list of key dates.
Wednesday 11 January – Departmental Curriculum Planning Afternoon (students leave at 1.35pm)
Wednesday 8 February – Friday 10 February – Performing Arts Production of “Annie”
Monday 20 February – Friday 24 February – Half Term
Thursday 23 March – Departmental Curriculum Planning Afternoon (Students leave at 1.35pm)
Wednesday 29 and Thursday 30 March – Performing Arts Evening

I look forward to continuing to work with you over the next term. Please do not hesitate to contact us in College if you have any queries or concerns.
With best wishes
Mr C M Taylor
