Dear Parent

I trust this letter finds you well.
It is with sadness that we have been following the events happening in the wake of the death
of Queen Elizabeth II on 8 September. As you know, we are in a period of national mourning
which will continue until the end of the state funeral on Monday 19 September. The day of
the funeral has been declared a bank holiday and our college will be closed as a mark of
respect. College will resume again on Tuesday 20 September.
During this period of mourning the college has been doing the following:

• Praying for Her Majesty the Queen and her immediate family during morning collective worship
• Morning assembly this week is devoted to celebrating her life
• A book of condolence has been set up in our chapel for staff and students to sign
• Mass will be said on Friday 16 September for the repose of Her Majesty’s soul

Monday will be an historic and for many, an emotional day.

In memory of Her Majesty the Queen,
Eternal rest grant unto her, O Lord,
And let perpetual light shine upon her.
May she rest in peace.
